Vaughan offers many attractions for tourists. The Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame and Museum and Boyd Conservation Area are a couple of popular sites, some of the more sites include:
The McMichael Canadian Art Collection
It houses an extensive collection of paintings by Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven and their contemporaries, and First Nations and Inuit artists. Also on display are temporary special exhibitions. The log and fieldstone building is nestled in 40 hectares of stunning woodland. The Gallery Shop specializes in one-of-a-kind gifts.
Ongoing and temporary exhibitions display works from the core collection, while special exhibitions further enrich our visitors' appreciation for the breadth and diversity of our country, its cultures, and its history. Dedicated to lifelong learning, the McMichael offers a wide range of programs for visitors of all ages. This high level of exhibition and complementary programming is made possible in part with support from the corporate and public sector through sponsorship, membership, and donations.
Paramount Canada's Wonderland
Today, Canada's Wonderland has over 200 attractions, including over 60 thrill rides. The park has North America's 3rd greatest number of roller coasters with 14 in total, and North America's greatest variety. The park features eight themed areas on 330 acres of land which includes a 20 acre waterpark called Splash Works. Splash Works has over 2 million gallons of heated water, Canada's largest outdoor wave pool measuring 36,000 square feet, a lazy river, and 16 water slides.
Vaughan Mills Mall
The shopping centre was designed and built by Ivanhoe Cambridge and The Mills Corporation; the latter owning a portfolio of malls across the United States. JPRA served as the design architect for the center, with Bregman + Hamann Architects as the project architect. Like its American counterparts, Vaughan Mills incorporates a "race track" layout to maximize the exposure of the mall tenants. The complex has over 200 retail stores, restaurants, and entertainment outlets. Fifteen anchor retailers are present, including Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, H&M, One's Better Living, and Urban Behaviour. Entertainment located on the site includes Lucky Strike Lanes and NASCAR Speedpark. The specialty shops include Occhiali Eyewear. Additionally, there is a UK-based hobby-modelling store called Games Workshop in the mall.
